Introduction

The Quorum Hackathon is a bi-annual event where the entire development team comes together, form teams, brainstorm product ideas, and develop them to compete for awards.

My team developed a concept that displays a client's activity within the Quorum product. We focused on simple interactivity tracking, deciding on time spent in the app, searches completed, and delivering the information as a landing page.

1. Research

Idea Board

We went through 3 rounds of FigJam brainstorming ideas. Ultimately we decided on the Quorum Wrapped idea.

2. Design

Hifi Mockups

3. Implementation

Functional Prototype

I quickly got started on a coding a functional prototype using a tech stack of HTML, CSS, Vanilla JS, Bootstrap, and Gulp.

My final thoughts...

The impact of the Quorum DS is felt far and wide, as it is shared across multiple teams, so efficiencies are extended between team members and products. When one team has spent time and effort to solve a design problem, then why shouldn’t another team in your company also benefit from this work?

My team delivered 173 custom components, recipes, templates and variations, covering nearly 100% of the use cases within Quorum. New features were built 80% faster compared to the creation of new components from scratch, saving the company both time and money.
